Naruto is wrongly imprisoned in a correctional confinement facility, Houzukijou, which is also called Blood Prison. This is after he is caught for supposedly trying to kill the Raikage of Kumogakure, and murdering Jounin from Kirigakure and Iwagakure. Naruto's power is being taken away by the most powerful imprisonment jutsu from the warden of the castle prison named Mui. Naruto finds he is being actively targeted for assassination in this prison. He has to battle to stay alive and show everyone that he is indeed not guilty of the crimes he is imprisoned for with the help of his friends, and discover the truth behind all of this.

Naruto is actively chasing a missing-nin called Mukade on a capture mission. He corners him at the beautiful and famous ruins of "Ouran". At these ruins there is something named a leyline, that has not been active since historic times. Mukade sought out this leyline and having successfully found it, unleashed its power. This action created an intensely radiant light to completely cover Naruto, which brought him 20 years back in time. Naruto wakes up confused of what just happened and is amazed to find his father Minato Namikaze the fourth Hokage is there.

The Fourth Great Shinobi World War looks like it will become a reality as ninja with Kekkei Genkai abilities began to disappear from Kumogakure, Iwagakure, Kirigakure, and Sunagakure. The other ninja nations suspect Konohagakure which is the only village not to be missing any ninja. To be the one responsible for this heinous deed. Rumors circulate around the known ninja world, that they plan to join together and take revenge. With the other ninja nations gathering up troop numbers and preparing for battle at the Land of Fire's borders, threatening invasion, the Feudal lord tries to find the real responsible party and prove Konohagakure is innocent. But in the event the true culprit or culprits cannot be found, the Land of Fire will be forced to destroy the village in order to preserve peace.

The main villian, Hiruko, who is a missing-nin and former friend of the Sannin (Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Tsunade) who disappeared from Konohagakure dozens of years before this current state of events. He is the one who developed the Chimera Technique, its a jutsu which allows him to absorb both the chakra and Kekkei Genkai of other ninja. His last Known location is at Mount Shami, which is his main headquarters. His followers, Ichi, Ni, and San, Hiruko uses a special genjutsu to project himself in the skies above Konohagakure, announcing that he will become immortal and be unbeatable when he obtains the Kekkei Genkai of the Land of Fire. After which he would instigate the Fourth Great Shinobi World War and conquer the entire world. With Hiruko about to finish his quest by collecting the last of the Kekkei Genkai, he becomes obsessed with Kakashi, due to the fact he has one of the last Uchiha Clan's Sharingans. Hiruko plans to get Kakashi's Sharingan what ever the cost. With the solar eclipse soon approaching, Hiruko intending to use the power of the solar eclipse to complete his master plan. Now a race to defeat this menace begins.

Someone is reviving demons, that once almost destroyed the world. A demon has to be sealed away to prevent the world from being destroyed and the only one who can do that is the shrine maiden Shion from the country of demons. Who has two powers; one is sealing demons and the other is predicting the deaths of humans. Naruto's mission is to guard Shion, but she predicts Naruto's death. And the only way to escape it, is to get as far away as he can from Shion, which would leave her undefended and at the mercy of the demon, whose only goal is to kill Shion. If the demon succeeds in doing so, it will mean the end of the world. Naruto decides to challenge this prediction of his death, but fails to prove the prediction wrong and seems to die in vain.

The Moon Country as it so happens, is a very rich country and so its Prince tends to acquire anything his wants and desires, during one of his many travels the Prince came across a circus group that features a very rare Sabre-toothed tiger that he wanted very much. So he purchased the entire circus group. Suddenly the mission to insure the safety of just the spoiled prince that never listens to anything said to him, turns in to a mission to look after animals and the prince, and then get all of them to their final destination, and somehow get them all back safely to the prince's home, the Moon Kingdom. In the mist of all of this, three mysterious Ninja that are wielding some frightening jutsu are waiting for them. Why are they attacking them? What do they want with Naruto, Sakura, Lee and Kakashi!?!

Temujin challenges Naruto to a fight and they had an epic battle, soon after the cliff face broke off and they both fall off the high cliff together. As Shikamaru, is left behind after all of the ruckus, he sees a giant moving fortress as it appears. In order to get a better grasp on the situation, he infiltrates the fortress by himself, only to witnesses a terrifying sight there.
